History
PALS was founded in August 2000 after the tragic drowning of a six year old child.
P.A.L.S. (Protection and LifeSaving) buys additional medical and lifesaving equipment for the local medical centres, "Proyeccion Civil" and ambulance services in the Mazarron and surrounding areas.
Some of the equipment that has been bought
- Electrocardiographs for Health Centres in Mazarron, Puerto de Mazarron, Fuente Alamo and Las Palas.
- Autoclave for Fuente Alamo Health Centre
- State of the art "Cardio Test" monitoring device
- "XL Cielon" defibrillators in ambluances X 2
- Jet ski rescue craft and stretcher for in-shore incidents
- Defibrillators for Mazarron, Puerto de Mazarron, and Fuente Alamo Health Centres
- Pulsometers and opthalmoscopes for Fuente Alamo Health Centre
- Seven defibrillators for police, ambluance and fire engines
- Equipment for ASPADEM, Mazarron
- Jet ski for Proteccion Civil for all year round use
- Two defibrillators in Camposol
- One defibrillator in Puerto de Mazarrón
Since the foundation of PALS over 169,747€ has been collected.
Expenses 0.9459% and 133,298€ has been spent on equipment and 26,356€
currently held pending future projects which includes 20,000€ for the
new Camposol Health Centre. PALS raises its funds from events and donations.
